Business Management Geared to a Real-World Outcome
At LA College, our mission is to provide you an education that prepares you to become an entrepreneur. Whether you wish to start your own business, or improve your ability to make significant contributions to a family business or an employer's operation, our 18-month business management program emphasizing entrepreneurship principles will provide you with the hands-on education you need. You'll learn management concepts from professionals who've been successful in the business world. Rather than simply relying on chalkboard theories, you'll be presented with real-world examples, presented by experts who’ve been there and done that.

You'll get started with the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, getting your creative juices flowing while exploring your business passion. Over the course of the program, you'll complete a core curriculum of business-focused classes and continue throughout the program to build on your business plan. Courses in management, marketing, business law, finance and accounting allow you to focus on a specific aspect of your plan and explore that topic in more detail. In addition, you'll spend significant time on your area of concentration, working with instructors who have the experience to advise you on your plan. For some concentrations, certain courses may be offered Online only. At the end of the program, you will have a comprehensive and well thought out business plan that's been critiqued by your peers, your instructors and industry professionals. It's then time to get out and move on to becoming an entrepreneur.

An Innovative Education
Your entrepreneurship degree is fundamentally different from a pure business management degree, since the program you'll complete emphasizes experiential learning and prepares you to start and manage your own business. Our courses focus on recognizing opportunities, entering markets, protecting intellectual property, financial planning and understanding how to navigate the legal requirements of conducting a business.

The LA College Difference:

  • The business plan. You get going with your business idea in your very first class, Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship. You then take your idea and build details into the plan as you take various business classes. At graduation, your business plan is ready to go. Your complete business plan will be the first step toward your success in the real world.

  • Business tools. We’ve partnered with professionals and organizations to ensure that you have the most relevant entrepreneurship curriculum, reading materials and software applications for your education. For example, you will use the leading business planning application from Palo Alto Software to incubate and develop your ideas.

  • Case studies and more. To ensure you receive the most relevant education, case studies will be an integral part of many classes. In addition, you’ll learn how to network and become familiar with small businesses, lending institutions, the Small Business Association (SBA), SCORE, chambers of commerce, trade fairs, student entrepreneurial organizations, etc.
