

LOCATION AND HOURS
LA College International's on-campus library is located at 3200 Wilshire Boulevard, near downtown Los Angeles, three (3) miles west of the Civic Center in Los Angeles, at the northwest corner of Wilshire Bl. and Vermont Ave.

LIBRARY BOOK CIRCULATION
LAC library books and materials may be checked out by faculty, staff and students with a current student ID, for two weeks plus one renewal period of one additional two week period, after the original due date period.
Library patrons may check out three books per visit or have a total of five books.
Library materials not returned after three overdue notices are subjected to billing for replacement and processing costs.
LAC academic library does not have an inter-library book loan program, to lend library materials by mail.
The on campus library book collection is supplemented by LAC's e-book subscription to Ebrary Academic Complete. Ebrary has over 20,000 e-books available, electronically. These e-books may be accessed on home computers or at the campus library, through the library home page, www.lac.edu/library
LIBRARY BOOK COLLECTION
The LAC on campus library holds approximately 2,500 printed book materials.
The on campus library has some general education and Business Management books.
Health Care and Criminal Justice e-books can be found in Ebrary.
The collection is organized on the Library of Congress classification system, used by many academic libraries.

REFERENCE SOURCES
The on campus library's reference collection comprises hundreds of volumes, which may be used inside the library only, to ensure reference sources are always available to library users, when the campus library is open.
When the on campus library is not open, please consult the library home page, www.lac.edu/library. Use the "Encyclopedia Britannica Academic Online" link, or look inside the "Reference Web Site Resources" hyperlink on the Library web page.
LIBRARY CATALOG
LA College's library maintains a Microsoft Access database on library materials in the campus library. Ask the librarys staff for assistance in using the catalog, to find library books.
PERIODICALS
LA College Library holds Business Week, Entrepreneurship, The Economist, Fortune, Inc., Los Angeles Times, Newsweek, and Wall Street Journal.
Most additional periodicals and academic periodicals are available online, at www.lirn.net/services.shtml.
RESERVE MATERIALS
Faculty may reserve books or articles in the library for specific course reading. Instructors may bring in articles for reserve, but the library staff will not copy articles. Library can hold articles behind the library desk and check articles out for one class period or two hours.
LIBRARY TOURS
Faculty may bring their classes to the library, during regular library hours. See or e-mail the Librarian one day or more in advance, to arrange tours for new students and returning students or to reserve a time for exclusive use of the library computer terminals.
COMPUTER TERMINALS
The on campus library has eight Pentium computers, which operate on Windows XP and MS Office software, with the library web page, lac.edu/library, on the terminal desktops. The library home page on the computer terminals offers access to the Internet, e-mail, library research databases, and online reference resources. The library's electronic resources are held in a server at LAC's data center, at a remote location.
RESEARCH DATABASES
You may use the online library research resources at home or in the campus library.
When the on campus library is not open, please consult the library home page at
www.lac.edu/library. If you are taking any courses online or partially online, you may also use the online library resources in the Library forum in Moodle.
